4 Tips for Hearing During the Holidays! 1. Choose your seat wisely! Choose a seat where you have a direct line of sight to people you'll be speaking to. Circular seating arrangements ensure you can see everyone! 2. Ensure rooms are well lit. Better, brighter lighting makes it easier to see faces. It also helps make non-verbal communication cues more visible. 3. Eliminate background noise. Background noises such as music, television, or running appliances can make it difficult to focus on speech. Keep them to a minimum! 4. Take a break. Invite someone to join you for a walk, or take a quiet break by yourself. Holidays can be overwhelming - make sure you (and your ears!) take some time to recoup.
